Leek ST13 6AD
Richard York tells traditional stories from Britain and around the world, framing them with music on unusual and beautiful instruments.
He’ll be telling tales during Doctor Plots at 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm from our story telling tent
Whether you’re five or ninety-five, come and hear stories which have been told and re-told over hundreds, sometimes thousands, of years only because they’re that good! (Over 95-year-olds are also welcome!)
Richard has told stories for English Heritage, for the National Trust, in the V&A and many more museums, for events, festivals, and in schools.
He’s also a gifted musician, with an unusual range of instruments from medieval harp to ancient Greek lyre, from hurdy-gurdy to Northumbrian smallpipes, and many more.
“Richard York, master storyteller and musician…” – The Times Newspaper.
“totally captivating for all ages … unhesitatingly recommend” – National Trust.
“an exceptional storyteller and musician.” – Guernsey Museum
